WHAT ARE GRIND LABS??
Every GRIND LAB is broken up into 6 components each serving a specific purpose.
1. Set The Tone
We begin every session by addressing the athletes as a group to lay the ground rules. We Stress the importance of effort, focus, and discipline during training as well as the goal of the session. We also share our philosophy and training concepts and how they relate to the training.
2. Dynamic Warm Up
The second component is a sport specific group warm up to prepare the athletes for the training session and introduce our standard for intensity and focus throughout the session.
3. Speed, Agility and Quickness
The athletes will participate in multiple drills designed to improve movement patterns, footwork/coordination, speed, agility, and explosiveness specific to the game of basketball
4. Ball Handling and Dribble Attack Footwork
Athletes will perform stationary ball handling drills to improve hand speed, hand strength, and coordination with the ball. Dribble attack footwork consists of constant repetition of game situation moves to create space from your defender but most importantly to use the proper footwork to blow by your defender and score at the rim.
5. Putting It All Together
We believe adding competition in your workouts helps you push yourself to another level as an athlete. So our last workout we like to perform shooting drills or 1-on-1 drills to raise the level of intensity when the athletes are tired to develop the physical and mental strength to excel in the game.
6. Recap and Motivation
The clinic will end by addressing the group one last time to review the training and its importance to their development. We also take the time to review our philosophy and work ethic. We explain how it is an important factor in not only their success in basketball but, also their success in life.
